SoundClick.com - Music community and social network [*]
Of the many Internet music communities I've recently joined SoundClick.com is the one that I least explored. But a superficial glance at the control panel reveals instantly the potential of this site - it contains all features you might expect of social community website including direct sale of songs (digital downloads) for 0.75c per song (whereof $0.52 goes to the artist).
The reason why you will find only a few of Qubenzis's songs on Soundclick.com becomes clear when you read the table below. It outlines the features that you get as non paying member as opposed to the upgrade features for which you pay a whopping $9.95 a month!
As a comparison, for a USD100.00 one time fee (this includes the price for barcodes), which is less than 12 months Soundclick membership, CDBaby.com will not only distribute two (2) full albums for digital download (full CD quality mp3s) to at least 20 different digital stores, but also a CD hard-copy to major distributors in U.S.A. and Europe.
Many of the "upgrades" however, are features that are freely available on several sites I've mentioned here
And most importantly, Qubenzis don't like the idea of low quality compression mp3s, that takes the edge out of the high sound we painstakingly tried to achieve in the studio.
Soundclick.com will have a very good role however, as a social network and search engine 'hook', expanding Qubenzis.com's Internet presence (for artist names and keywords used).
